SCP Certifications Fulfill DoD Directive 8570.1 Requirements

DoD Directive 8570.1 seeks to strengthen the protection of our national computer networks by providing effective government-wide management and oversight of the nation's information security risks. The Directive specifies commercial certifications required for "privileged users" or jobs that pose an increased level of Information Assurance (IA) risk.

Currently, two SCP certifications qualify under the DoD Directive 8570.1: SCNP and SCNA. The SCNP certification qualifies for the Tech 2 position and focuses on the required elements of securing a network. The SCNA certification qualifies for the Tech 3 position and focuses on the advanced security skills and technologies of building trusted networks.
